The Challenge

DMW functions as a parent brand for two distinct conference experiences:

  • Digital Entertainment World (DEW)

  • New York Media Festival (NYMF)

The challenge was to design a brand identity system that allowed each conference to feel distinct, relevant across both branding and app experience.

    • Established DMW as the core brand layer, with shared visual DNA

    • Designed sub-brand extensions for DEW and NYME using differentiated color, typography emphasis, and motion language

    • Built a modular app framework for NYME that allowed content, schedules, and navigation to adapt per festival section without redesigning the experience

    • Created a individual branding identity systems that scaled across both DEW and NYME

    • Designed app UI concepts for NYME that supported:

      • Event discovery across multiple festival tracks

      • Clear visual distinction of NYME programming

      • Seamless navigation between shared and section-specific content

    • Ensured the system could support future conference expansions or additional sub-brands

    • Delivered a scalable brand and digital system supporting each festival identities

    • Enabled clear audience segmentation without fragmenting the overall festival experience

    • Provided a flexible foundation for future DEW and NYME conference iterations and growth

New York Media Festival

  • Designed the event app UI in collaboration with KitApps, Inc. and Attendify to enhance attendee experience, making navigation easier and branding consistent throughout the five-day event.

  • Developed sponsorship packages and related marketing collateral that visually communicated value to potential sponsors.

  • Created supporting digital and print assets including email campaigns, digital banners, event signage, and presentation slides.

Digital Entertainment World

  • Designed digital signage, email marketing, social graphics, and on-site visuals to support the conference’s marketing and event goals.

  • Created the icon for “Innovation”, the newest track in the conference, and the logo for DEW Startups, a competition giving 12 startup companies a chance to win prize money and mentorship from industry experts.
